Salsa in Austria runs on 12 weekly socials, and most of them are in Vienna. The capital hosts eight of the country's events, with a few more spread across Graz, Gleisdorf and Linz. Friday is the strongest night nationwide, but you can dance from Tuesday through Saturday, plus one Sunday social. Bachata is a little bigger here, with 15 weekly events, so many nights mix both styles on the same floor. Kizomba and zouk have smaller scenes. If you only have one weekend, base yourself in Vienna and plan around Friday. Entry is usually cheap, and turning up alone is normal at these socials.
