Salsa in San Juan
Puerto Rico
Salsa in San Juan runs five nights a week, and all five are weekly socials spread across five venues. Sunday is the strongest night, a long Puerto Rican tradition where dancers fill bars into the evening. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday each add one social, so you can dance most days of the week. Most nights happen in bars and lounges, with one hotel venue in the mix. The music is Puerto Rican salsa dura and salsa romantica, danced on1 in the island style. Old San Juan and the Santurce area hold much of the action. Coming alone is normal, and locals rotate partners freely. Salsa is the main social dance here, so nights stay focused on one style.
