Salsa in Washington DC runs eight nights a week, and all eight are weekly socials. Wednesday is the busiest night with two parties, and Friday and Saturday also give you two each. Sunday and Thursday cover the rest, so you can dance five days out of seven. Most nights happen in Latin restaurants, rum bars, and bar venues, several near Dupont Circle and the U Street area. Many floors mix salsa with bachata (7 bachata events run here), and a few add zouk (4 events). Coming alone is normal, and locals rotate partners from the first song. Check each event for the cover charge, since some socials start with a short beginner class.
