Salsa in Chiang Mai runs three times a week, and all three are weekly socials. Sunday is the busiest day with two events, and Wednesday adds one more in the middle of the week. That gives you two nights out of seven to dance salsa. Most salsa happens around Nimman, the city's cafe and nightlife district, in event spaces above One Nimman and in open-air spots near Huay Kaew. The scene is small and mixed: bachata also runs three events a week, kizomba two, and zouk one, so many nights blend several styles on the same floor. Coming alone is normal here, and the group is friendly to travelers and beginners passing through the city.
